On the frozen Ulfen continent of Ulvedal, Dalla serves her aunt Yrsa, Jarl and guardian of Dalla’s daughter, Astrid. Yrsa is determined to become High Queen and sends Dalla and her companions into the feared Valley of Tavor to seek a hidden treasure—possibly the crown of the High Queen, missing for a century. No one returns from the valley. It is cursed, as are its inhabitants, and all of Ulvedal knows to stay away. Yet Dalla has no choice but to go. The companion sent by Yrsa, Raggvar, is the one she does not trust—but is there another she should be wary of? Soon, Dalla will learn a hard lesson when Blindly they Trust.
